Recall: Large dairy recalls cheese and lettuce cubes because of broken glass

The Rücker dairy in Lower Saxony is recalling cheese and salad cubes nationwide. In the case of the product, fragments of glass may come off when the glass is opened. Broken glass can lead to dangerous injuries when consumed.

Recall for lettuce cubes in oil
Molkerei Rücker GmbH from Aurich (Lower Saxony) is recalling cheese products across Germany due to the risk of glass splinters. The recall affects "RÜCKER Waterkant Salad Cubes in Oil with Herbs" with the best-before dates: 27.12.2017 and 01.01.2018 and "RÜCKER Waterkant Salad Cubes in Oil with Herbs and Olives" with the best-before dates: 26.12.2017 and 01.01.2018.

Splinters of glass can cause serious injuries
"During a routine quality control, a material defect was found, which leads to broken glass fragments when opening the glass," the company wrote in a message.

Customers who have bought the corresponding product can return it to their shops without a presentation of the sales receipt.

Other Rücker GmbH products are not affected.

Food that could contain broken glass or broken glass should in principle no longer be consumed. Otherwise you could cause serious injuries in the mouth and throat or even internal injuries. (ad)
